Samsung Electronics hari ini mengumumkan bahwa anggota komunitas pengembang global sudah bisa mendapatkan akses awal ke Software Development Kit (SDK) dari generasi berikutnya untuk perangkat Gear Samsung. Perangkat wearable baru ini akan menjadi generasi ke-7 dari Samsung Gear untuk jenis jam tangan atau smartwatch. Ini adalah untuk pertama kalinya bahwa Samsung telah merilis Wearable SDK untuk pengembang pihak ketiga sebelum pengumuman produk resminya.
"Samsung telah secara aktif menyesuaikan pendekatan untuk pengembangan perangkat wearable sebagai pemimpin dalam kategori yang berkembang pesat ini," kata JK Shin, CEO dan Kepala Divisi IT & Mobile Communications (IM) di Samsung Electronics. "Melalui inovasi yang bermakna dan progresif, Samsung menyambut pengembang dan para pemimpin industri untuk bergabung dalam upaya kolaborasi terbuka ini untuk memperkaya dan menciptakan pengalaman pengguna yang unik untuk kehidupan mobile baru yang cerdas."
Untuk mengikuti program ini, pengembang dapat menjadi anggota komunitas dengan mengajukan permohonan di website Samsung Developer. Para pelamar akan diberitahu melalui email yang kemudian disertai dengan sumber daya (resource) pengembangan. Mereka akan menjadi orang yang pertama untuk bisa melihat dari dekat ke SDK dan mengembangkan aplikasi untuk Gear berikutnya.

Samsung to Release SDK for Next Generation Gear
Developers receive invitation to help build next Samsung wearable prior to the product launch
Seoul, Korea – April 24, 2015 – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. today announced that members of global developer community can get an early access to the Software Development Kit (SDK) of the company’s next generation of the Gear device. The new wearable device will be the 7th generation of Samsung Gear with a wrist watch type. This is the first time that Samsung has released its wearable SDK to third-party developers before the official product announcement.
“Samsung has actively adapted its approach to wearable device development as the leader of the rapidly developing category,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communications Division at Samsung Electronics. “Through meaningful and progressive innovation, Samsung welcomes to developers and industry leaders to join this open collaboration effort to enrich and create unique user experiences for a new smart mobile life.”
To join the program, developers can become a member of the community by submitting an application at the Samsung Developer’s website. The applicants will be later notified through email along with the development resources. They will be among the first to get an up-close look into the SDK and build apps for the next Gear.
