Spreadtrum umumkan dukungan buat OS Tizen

Spreadtrum Announces Support for Tizen Operating System

Samsung’s Z1, its first Tizen smartphone now launched in India, combines Spreadtrum’s WCDMA chipsets with the Tizen operating system

Shanghai, CHINA – Feb 12th, 2015 –Spreadtrum Communications, a leading fabless semiconductor company in China with advanced technology in 2G, 3G and 4G wireless communications standards, today announced that it has successfully completed the integration of the Tizen operating system (OS) with Spreadtrum’s WCDMA chipsets. This integrated platform is now shipping in Samsung’s first Tizen smartphone, the Z1, released in January 2015 to the Indian market.

The Z1 runs the Tizen 2.3 OS and integrates Spreadtrum’s SC7727S mobile chipset platform, which features a 1.2Ghz dual-core WCDMA processor. The device, which retails for $92, also sports a 3.1 megapixel camera, 4 GB of on-board memory, and is bundled with a variety of content and service offers.
