SES, SmarDTV dari Kudelski Group dan Samsung Electronics hari ini mengumumkan bahwa mereka akan mendemonstrasikan konten Ultra HD terenkripsi pertama secara end-to-end - melalui satelit SES ke Samsung Ultra HD TV dengan menggunakan modul CAM SmarDTV CI Plus - di IBC 2014 di Amsterdam.
Demonstrasi ini akan menandai tonggak utama untuk rantai siaran Ultra HD, karena ini adalah pertama kalinya bahwa sebuah sinyal Ultra HD di HEVC yang dilindungi oleh CAS dalam resolusi penuh 3840x2160 pixel akan didekripsi oleh standar modul SmarDTV CI Plus dan ditayangkan pada Samsung Ultra HD TV. Ini membuka pintu untuk penyedia layanan TV berbayar untuk langsung mengakses UHD TV baru yang sedang diadopsi dengan cpat oleh konsumen di seluruh dunia. Konten Ultra HD akan disiarkan secara langsung dari satelit SES pada posisi orbit 19,2 derajat Timur menggunakan spesifikasi sinyal DVB UHD Phase 1.

"Kemampuan untuk menggunakan standar modul CI Plus CAM dengan generasi terbaru dari Ultra HD TV membuka pintu untuk layanan Ultra HD yang cepat dan biaya yang efektif."
Thomas Wrede, Wakil Presiden Sistem Penerimaan di SES, mengatakan, "Ekosistem siaran Ultra HD telah berkembang pesat dalam 18 bulan terakhir, dengan operator satelit global seperti SES memainkan peran utama dalam menyiapkan infrastruktur satelit dan ground untuk mendukung pelanggan kami dengan pengiriman peristiwa dan layanan TV berbayar Ultra HD. Demonstrasi secara live akan ditampilkan di IBC di stan SmarDTV/NAGRA 1C81 di Hall #1 dan pada stan SES di Hall B51 #1.
SES, SmarDTV and Samsung Demonstrate World’s First Ultra HD CAS-Protected Broadcast Service Using DVB Standards
SES, SmarDTV, a Kudelski Group company, and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd announced today that they will be demonstrating the first end-to-end encrypted Ultra HD content – via an SES satellite to a Samsung Ultra HD TV by using a SmarDTV CI Plus CAM module -- at the IBC 2014 in Amsterdam.
The demonstration will mark a major milestone for the Ultra HD broadcast chain, as it is the first time that a full 3840x2160 pixel CAS protected Ultra HD signal in HEVC will be decrypted by a standard SmarDTV CI Plus Module and rendered on Samsung Ultra HD TV models. This opens the door for pay-TV service providers to directly access the new UHD TV Sets that are being rapidly adopted by consumers around the world. The Ultra HD content will be broadcast live from an SES satellite at the orbital position of 19.2 degrees East using DVB UHD Phase 1 signaling specifications.
“Many of our pay-TV customers and numerous services providers around the world are interested in deploying Ultra HD and this will allow them to jump start their activities with minimum investments,” said Conor Ryan, Vice President of Marketing at SmarDTV. “The ability to use standard CI Plus CAM modules with the latest generation of Ultra HD TVs opens the door to rapid and cost effective UltraHD services.”

The live demonstration will be shown in IBC at the SmarDTV/NAGRA booth 1C81 in Hall #1 and at the SES booth B51 in Hall #1.
